During 2011-12 we have assisted 2256 school & college students, provided Medical Services to 425 patients under various schemes and another 67729 patients through our three Mobile Clinics and two Fixed Dispensaries; and provided Poverty Relief to 2729 beneficiaries
Under this this head MESCO has been helping patients by providing financial assistance to undergo suitable treatment. Financial assistance is provided through three schemes, namely
1. High Cost Medical assistance(HCMA)
2. General Medical Aid
3. Mobile Clinics and Dispensaries

1) HIGH COST MEDICAL ASSISTANCE:
Financial assistance is provided for medical treatment of ailments involving high cost such as in case of heart surgery, neurological disorders, burns, kidney failure etc.,
2) GENERAL MEDICAL AID :
Financial assistance is provided for simpler procedures such as appendix, cataract operations, fractures for diagnostic tests such as MRI, CT scan & others; also covered are short term medicines for various conditions.
3) MOBILE CLINICS :
It is the latest project launched in February 2007. This has been very useful and in each of the two months that it has been in operation, it is serving a little over 100 patients each day spread over 5 slum locales. Second Mobile Clinic was launched in November 2008 and is serving 4 localities in Kausa-Mumbra area. Its 3rd Mobile Clinic was started providing services effective 1st June 2009 which operating in 4 localities. Fixed charitable dispensary one at Kausa, Dist. Thane and second at Kurla.

Health Awareness Camps
Three free eye check-up camps in collaboration with Lions Club of Byculla were organized in servicing areas of Mobile Clinic. Total 318 patients attended the camps, out of which 205 patients were given spectacles at concessional rates, 24 patients were referred for surgery and 139 patients were newly detected with refractory error.
